The hospital

Since 1989 the suffering people of Afghanistan have found help at the Chak-e-Wardak Hospital. It is taking care of more than 100,000 patients per year, about 75 % of them being women and children. Due to 40 years of war and unrest the country is still devastated in many places. So our humanitarian help has always been a relief especially for the poor rural population.

Even today the Chak-e-Wardak Hospital is still the only thoroughly equipped hospital for the more than 500,000 inhabitants of the province of Wardak offering both 60 beds for inpatients and various outpatient units. Contrary to hospitals, clinics and private doctorís surgeries in the cities, treatment in the Chak-e-Wardak Hospital is almost for free. Thatís why especially the very poor rural people can afford the services our hospital is offering.

The hospital is open daily and - for emergencies - also at night.
