Daily routine at the hospital

Besides the administration department, a kitchen and a bakery cater for up to 300 persons a day.  Additionally a laundry, a warehouse, three Diesel generators and a chauffeured car pool consisting of three old jeeps, a motorcycle and a bicycle guarantee the smooth running of the hospital.

Moreover, there is an incinerator for the disposal of the hospital waste.

The medical material is purchased mainly in Pakistan and Kabul. Food and fuels are bought locally in Afghanistan.

In the past large in-kind donations were brought via container to Chak once a year. Today this is due to complicated on-site handling no longer possible.

Communication favourably runs via mobile and e-mail. There is no internet access at Chak.
